Yes! Finally, it will happen. This we have itched to do for a long time. And now feels a great time.

We wan’t to cover all possible topics from wheres, hows, ifs, offffs, with tips / tricks and information.

It will be light-hearted but all information will be practically based and directly from out guides deep-field experience.

Combined we have hundreds of years of polar experience. We started off with being part of the New Polar generation eighties and early nineties. That was a time when ambitions were high and the stakes higher. The world was ‘bombed’ by incredible firsts and groundbreaking endeavours exploring the physical, mental and technical boundaries.

This laid the foundation for the standards of today.

What made the Norwegian community stand out, was that everybody chaired information and ideas. This drove the standards forward to the benefit of everybody.

This is what we want to continue. And hopefully you will benefit too and get to enjoy your own adventures even more?

 

The start plan

We will start of with a topic that is just great for everybody: Where to go and what that takes. We will talk about areas, trips, goals, show pictured and discuss what make one trips different from another, and how you can get there.

This will be a free webinar, and you will meet several of us. Exactly who and details will come first ´to everybody receiving our newsmail, but also announced broadly.

As we also need to learn the art of webinar’ing ourselves, not overdo it and get better, it will be a limit to how many can attend. The first to ‘mølla’ gets the ‘mel’ first – as we say in Norwegian 🙄.

The plan going forward

We will do these webinars regularly. They will be 30 minutes of diving into every topic under the polar sky. Covering; storms, how to train and prepare, how to cut weight, tents and camps, equipment, crevasses and avalanches, polar thighs, we will even have a  webinar for just girls and women for and by themselves. And we will some of Børge and Vince’s IceLegacy trips in detail

 

All topics will be announced I newsletters (sign up) and Instagram @ouslandcolliard

They will run every month.

 

 

What’s in it for you?

We want involvement. We want to know what you ponder and would like to know or learn more about. So help us out and send in your suggestion for a topic.

We daily get asked tons of great and relevant questions, so we may, now and then, do a webinar on just answering questions.

We will round off all webinars with questions, but those will be tied to that specific field. So here is a link for you to send in your question / topic / problem / etc

The Big One

We are working on a real Polar Training Webinar. It looks to be a 4 part (or more) seminar. It will work through everything you need to know and understand for a major polar adventure.

It will be highly practically driven and to get the most out of it, you will need some time after each session to repeat and practice a few tasks and exercises (of course totally voluntary :-)

• This will be a paid for webinar and will be hosted by Børge Vince and Lars.

• It will be run some time in the European winter months

• You can show interest already by ticking of the box in the webinar form. All those interested will be contacted personally with itinerary, details, time and how to prepare before you commit.
