CROSS THE SECOND LARGEST ICE SHEET ON EARTH

Here you have to make a choice. The crossings differ more than people expect, by season, by direction, by length. The spring routes give reliable snow and stable conditions. The fall is more varied, throws up surprises, and is harder both physically and mentally. Those with bigger goals later on tend to choose the fall.

WEST - EAST SPRING CROSSING

A good time to cross the icecap — reliable snow and generally stable conditions. The most approachable of the four.

Dates: 1st May 2027

EAST - WEST THE CLASSIC FALL CROSSING

Very different from spring. The crevasses and icefields are open and exposed, the weather less forgiving. Harder on body and mind.

Dates: 11th Aug 2027

THE NANSEN SPECIAL IN FALL FROM EAST TO WEST

Longer, harder, more varied — and more expensive. Here you don't cross the icecap; you cross Greenland, coast to coast, on the historic Nansen line ending in Nuuk.

Dates: 8th Aug 2027

THE FAST & FURIOUS - ACROSS IN 14 DAYS

Cross Greenland with Vincent Colliard in about 14 days — roughly 560 km at speed. For strong skiers with a proven endurance pedigree.
